New to our Benicia showroom is this beautiful 1960 Nash-Hudson Metropolitan 2 Door Convertible with gorgeous black and light blue exterior paint, awesome chrome work and a black vinyl interior. Youll find a factory 1500cc four cylinder engine under the hood with the matching three-speed manual transmission, both of which have been rebuilt in the last 1,750 miles. This classic vehicle is in excellent overall condition as well and it is ready to be enjoyed on the open road or at local shows immediately by one lucky collector.

This highly sought after model is the perfect snapshot of a bygone era- one of drive-ins, a day at the beach and ice cream.

Driven Only 1,750 Miles since Complete Restoration

The current owner of this 1960 Metropolitan Convertible informs us that this Series IV model was built in November of 1959 as a coupe that was professionally converted into a convertible. It has been enjoyed across four different owners across its life and this beautiful classic was fully restored back in January of 2015 to gorgeous levels. This classic shows really well in person and drives like a champion. It is one of the few sporty classics youll find anywhere that is excellent with fuel economy yet still has solid acceleration and handling.

Additionally, the Metropolitan line is known for the distinction of being the first post-war automobile marketed directly towards women. The original styling was completed by the Nash team and noted Italian designer Pinifarina, who eventually refused to be associated with the vehicle once he realized its final spec size as a sub-compact.
