The Ford Galaxie is a full-sized car that was built in the U.S. from 1959 through 1974. The Galaxie was the competitor to the high-volume full sized Chevrolet Impala. The 1963 model saw some freshening and added trim as well as a reshaped windshield. A lower, fastback roofline was added mid-year to improve looks and make the big cars more competitive on the NASCAR tracks with less drag and reduced aerodynamic lift at high speed. This 1963 model is the industry's first official 1/2 year model and was referred to as a fastback. Galaxie buyers showed their preference as the new fastback models easily outsold the square-roof models. This particular example was delivered new with a 390 ci 330 hp V8 and a Borg Warner T10 transmission. It was completely restored in 2006 at which time the odometer was reset. It has been driven 16,298 miles since. During the restoration the engine and transmission were completely rebuilt, a racing hood was added, a series of gauges were added, a custom interior was added and it was fitted with a set of American Racing Torque Thrust Ds. It was repainted in Purple from a 96 Mustang which really sets off the laser straight body on this sweet machine. In 2018 the front brakes were upgraded to disc brakes. All said and done there was far more invested in the restoration than what we are asking for the entire car. So if you like what you see you should pick up the phone before someone beats you to it!
