The Impala is a full size car built by Chevrolet that was first introduced in 1958. The Impala SS (Super Sport) was first introduced in 1961. The SS badge ended up becoming Chevrolets signature of performance. The 5th generation Impala was introduced in 1965 and set an all-time sales record of more than 1 million units in the U.S. The 1967 Impala SS was less decorated than other Impalas with black grille accents and black accented body side and rear fender moldings. This particular example is a true SS that was originally equipped with a 327 and an automatic transmission. It was restored within the last 3 years at which time it received a date code correct 396 ci engine that has been completely rebuilt with roller rockers that runs perfectly on pump gas and is putting out about 400 hp. It has a 650cfm Holley 4 barrel carb sitting atop an Edelbrock Performer intake. It is sparked with an Accel electronic ignition and sounds awesome ripping through its chambered exhaust. It also received a new 12 bolt posi rear end with 4:10 gears that will smoke the tires without effort but also cruises down the road at 2,000 RPMs at 70 mph with its new Tremec 5 speed manual transmission. The suspension and brakes were completely rebuilt with all new parts as well. The interior is all original with the exception of the Custom Autosound stereo, speakers and a few added gauges. The body is laser straight and was repainted in its original color of Emerald Turquoise which looks gorgeous with its American Racing Torque Thrust D rims. Less than 1,000 miles have been put on this frame-on restored car so it is in incredible shape. If you have been looking for a real SS you know how hard it is to find one in this condition so if you like what you see dont wait until it is too late to call!
