For 1976, the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham would wear the Sixty Special name for the final time. The staggering 133 inch wheelbase improved legroom and was a full three inches longer than the Sedan de Ville. Styling was improved as well with a new jewel-like hood ornament and larger chrome housings at the rear that served as holders for the red lenses. Under the hood was Cadillac_s proven 500 cubic inch V8, a more refined version of the legendary 472 block that was good for around 200 horsepower. Traditional Coachworks started in 1975 and was the product of a dinner conversation between two Cadillac dealership co-workers who casually discussed how the new Cadillac would look as a pick up or a station wagon. Based in Chatsworth, California, just northwest of Los Angeles, they quickly gained a quality reputation for their custom Mirage two-door Pickup conversions referred to as the Mirage Sport Wagon and the Castilian Fleetwood Estate Wagon. All three models were produced in limited numbers and their quality craftsmanship met Cadillac_s strict standards. The Castilian Fleetwood Estate Wagon shared the frame and body of the Fleetwood Brougham and cost $30,000 new, the equivalent of over $130,000 today! Built in limited numbers, Traditional Coachworks Cadillacs attracted numerous celebrity owners including the daredevil Evil Knievel and legendary _Rat Pack_ members Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin. The 1976 Cadillac Castilian Fleetwood Estate Wagon featured here is finished in gorgeous Light Gold Metallic with an impeccably kept tan leather interior. This magnificent motorcar is showing only 8,000 on the odometer which may very well be actual miles. It is one of only 11 built and is certainly one of the nicest examples on the market today. Ordered by and sold new to the famous entertainer Dean Martin, we are proud to offer this incredible Cadillac Castilian Estate Wagon to the most particular collector, investor or enthusiast who understands and appreciates the provenance and rarity of this great American classic.
