Interested in traveling back 15 years, maybe before the kids, before you got married and before life became complicated? MotoeXotica is very excited to present this twiceowned 2001 Honda S2000 twoseat roadster from California. Hands down, this is the cleanest, freshest, Honda roadster you will find for miles around, perhaps in all of North America How many other examples still have just a shade over 900 actual miles on the clock? When new, many driving enthusiasts bought these cars and could not refrain from racking up the miles in them because these road rockets are truly a joy to pilot, so finding one with low mileage is most uncommon.

We predict the S2000 will only appreciate in value and for the discriminating collector, this is one lowmileage example (one of 9,682 copies imported in 2001) he or she should have on their tobuy lists. In February 2016, CheatSheet.com listed the S2000 fifth out of eight Japanese cars that will be worth big money. It predicted that, "Like the NSX, the S2000 hasnt seemed to have aged since its debut in 2000 and its performance only improved with time. Now a favorite of aftermarket tuners, the S2000 is starting to command higher dollars, especially those untouched from the factory." In 2013, Jalopnik.com nominated it a future classic "not only because it is a fantastic machine, but also because its discontinuation left a vacuum in the sports car landscape that has yet to be filled."

The S2000 features afront midengine, reardrive layoutwith power delivered by a 2.0L inline fourcylinderDOHC VTECengine. The engine (codenamedF20C) produces 240horsepower (or 120 hp per liter) and 153lbsft of torque and is mated to a sixspeedmanual transmission then connected to a Torsenlimitedslip differential. The S2000 achieved what Honda claimed as "the world's top level, high performance fourcylinder naturally aspirated engine."

Not since the original Honda S500/S600/S800 sports cars has Honda made a reardrive car with a longitudinallymounted engine and never with a sixspeed manual. The 2,750pound S2000 pays homage to those forebears, is one of the last raw sports cars you could buy and it retains a strong cult following. Yet with its Honda pedigree, it didn't nickelanddime its owner for constant stream of parts and trips to the dealer. Most S2000 drivers reportedly took their cars in only for routine maintenance, like oil changes, yet consistently recorded 2728 mpg.

The car's original owner, a Mr. Andruse, bought the car on April 8, 2001 from Mike Harvey Honda in Burlingame, California. He reportedly kept the vehicle garaged and changed the oil every year although he did not keep service records to support that. Andruse moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in May of 2012. He owned the car for more than 12 years. On August 19, 2013, the car was offered for sale with 837 miles on the clock. The second owner, a Mr. Johnson, bought the car on August 4, 2015 in Santa Maria, California, with the odometer reading 884 miles. He sold the car in June 2016.

Finished in Silver Stone Metallic (code NH630M) on the outside, this twoseater is sharp There are only three very minor body blemishes that we can find but overall, the car's paint is thick and glossy, its glass still looks showroom new and the lights are all clear, intact and crisp. From its highintensity discharge (HID) headlamps to its back bumper, every body panel is laser straight and properly aligned. The black vinyl power top is in excellent shape, including its transparent plastic rear window. The engine bay looks like the car has never been driven and the bright red F20C valve cover is a beautiful sight to behold.

Inside, the cozy confines of the cockpit, with its nearlynew condition black (code Type A) Recaro leather bucket seats, coax you to climb in, close the door and head out for the longest scenic route you can find between home and work or just because. The seats, carpet, dashboard, steering wheel, door panels, mirrors, console and shifter show little to no wear and look like they just came off of the assembly line. How often do you see a tachometer that tops out at 9,000 RPM in motorcycle territory? Only from a large motorcycle producer who also happens to make cars. As in all S2000s, this car comes with digital instruments, including a lightbar tachometer. Concealed behind a onetouch panel is the factory Honda AM/FM stereo with CD player. Car has thoughtful Honda interior touches like a storage bin between the seats and a wind blocker amid the headrests so with the top dropped, you can converse with a passenger at highway speeds without yelling.

Car features independentdouble wishbonesuspension, electrically assistedsteering, integratedroll hoops, Honda 16inch, fivespoke alloy wheels within expensive BridgestonePotenza S02 tires, 205/55R16 in front and 225/50R16 in back. The compact and lightweight engine, mounted entirely behind the front axle, allowed the S2000 to achieve a 5050 front/rear weight distribution and lowrotational inertia. An electrically poweredvinyltop with internal cloth lining was standard.

Mods on this car are a Comptech Sport Cold Air Intake (CAI) and a Comptech Sport exhaust system. The exhaust features a twopiece stainless steel catback, polished stainless steel resonator and mufflers with 3.5inch polished stainless steel resonated tips. It allows a smooth, low tone to emanate from the car without being overly loud. The CAI has a reusable twostage foam filter element, a carbon fiber lid on air box, it will not ingest water and the air box mitigates filter element noise. It is also California Air Resources Board (CARB)legal to use in California. Included with purchase are the car's OEM intake and exhaust systems, stock tonneau cover, exhaust tips and cargo net.

Comptech USA, now CT Engineering, in Rancho Cordova, California, is the factory authorized tuning arm for Acura and Honda, offering products for the Acura Integra and NSX, the Honda Civic SI and S2000 models, among others. CT parts are engineered to fit right the first time, are dynotested to ensure performance gains and they are made to last. Participating dealers allow the buyer to order CT parts when they order their car and the dealer will install the parts prior to delivery. This S2000 also features a dealerinstalled Stargard security system, which disables the starter when the special coded Stargard key is missing from the underdash receptacle, preventing anyone from hotwiring the vehicle.

Vehicle comes with the following documentation owner's manual, security system instructions, supplemental restraint system guide, summary of coverages guide, clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report (erroneously shows three owners after original owner moved to New Mexico), completed motor vehicle product update dated July 2002, a California emissions report from August of 2015, which it passed, and details on the aftermarket modifications the car has, including how to install the air intake kit.

TheHonda S2000was manufacturedfrom 1999 to 2009. First shown as a concept car at theTokyo Motor Showin 1995, the production version was launched in April 1999 to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary. The S2000 is named for its engine displacement of twoliters, carrying on the tradition of its ancestors, theS500,S600 andS800roadsters of the 1960s.

The Honda S2000's competition in 2001 included the BMW Z3 convertible, the Alfa Romeo 3.0 V6 24V and the Audi TT Roadster 1.8 T Quattro.

The S2000 was introduced in 1999 for the 2000model yearand was given the chassis designation of AP1. The AP1 was manufactured until 2003 at Honda'sTakanezawaplant, alongside theHonda NSXandHonda Insight hybrid. The S2000 has received much praise from critics and motoring journalists and has received favorable reviews from such publications asCar and Driver. Highlighted are the high output of the engine, the high redline, the balanced handling and the smooth gearbox. User surveys have named the S2000 as a favorite for overall customer satisfaction. Some of the car's many accolades include:
