Some 220 lbs. lighter at 2,975 lbs., the biggest visual clues to this weight reduction are inside the Scuderias cockpit, its surroundings look cooler, simpler, and more like a race car. The trim is carbon fiber, floor mats are gone in favor of aluminum plating, missing sill covers reveal the beautiful welds of the aluminum space frame, and the seats are shaped like works of art. Additionally, the exterior detailing is squarer-cut, more aerodynamically efficient and businesslike. The exhaust sound from the 4.3-liter V-8 is more feral than the F430, and horsepower is increased to 503. Indeed, with Ferraris crown prince, Michael Schumacher at the helm, the 430 Scuderia circulated the fast track at Fiorano in 1:25.0, equaling Dario Benuzzis best run in the stupendously thrilling Enzo. Impressively, the 430 Scuderia is capable of a blistering 0-to-60 time of just 3.1 seconds compared to the 651 horsepower Enzos comparatively pedestrian 3.4.
