*1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible*1940 represented Fords final year of vehicle production before turning over their factories for the war effort and the car that they produced in that year became one of the most hot rodded cars of all time. Combining timeless design and Fords coveted 221ci Flathead V8 the 1940 Deluxe Convertible was the most coveted of the cars they produced that year. This particular example has undergone a comprehensive nut-and-bolt restoration to bring it back to better than original condition. The entire chassis of the car was stripped back to bare metal and painted in gloss black and all of the suspension was rebuilt so it drives like new. The brake system was completely rebuilt and the 4-wheel drum brakes work as they should. The car rolls on a correct set of 16-inch steel wheels with chrome trim rings Deluxe center caps and wide white wall tires.Under the hood the Flathead V8 was rebuilt with an eye towards an original look and includes correct componentry colors and the finishes were carefully chosen to look as they did in 1940. Dual exhaust pipes are meticulously routed through the frame and out the back bumper and feature period correct exhaust deflectors. This immaculate engine is backed by a 3-Speed column-shifted manual transmission that runs through the gears better than when it came out of the factory.On the outside the car is finished in a shade of Garnet Maroon that is period correct and looks immaculate with its laser straight all steel body work perfect panel gaps and a beautiful paint finish. The top is finished in tan canvas with maroon piping that matches the exterior of the car. On the inside the dashboard is two tone maroon and Rose Sand and is complete with an AM Radio. The seats have all been reupholstered and the rubber floor mat rounds out the original appearance of the vehicle. The 1940 Ford Deluxe represents a special time in the manufacturers history and remains one of their most coveted cars.
