This custom 1949 GMC was a nine-year build and was featured on the cover of Custom Classic Trucks. It has also won many awards. The frame has been boxed and a 69 Camaro ifs front clip was grafted on the rear section was c-notched for a 69 Camaro rear end and rear suspension. The engine is a 4 bolt main 350 cu inch crate motor adorned with polished Edelbrock intake and carb along with Billet specialties valve covers and air clearer cooling is done by a 69 Camaro radiator and a rebuilt Th350 transmission puts the power to the rear end. Extensive body modifications include the Top Chopped 3 inches and cab sectioned 4 inches. Two grilles were merged to create a one off stair stepped effect. Hand built front and rear bumpers. The bed started out as a 80s Ford narrowed 14 inches and shortened 18 inches then the original GMC fenders were grafted on and mated to the rear bumper and the running boards with contain exhaust cut outs. French headlights with hand built eyelids shades. Hand built motorized tonneau/trunk lid was fabricated. Front fenders were widened 1 inch and tapered to the rear. The cowl panel was removed and the motorized peek-a-boo hood was pancaked 4 inches. Paint was done in PPG laser red urethane tri-coat. The interior consists of a 78 Lebaron seat recovered in tan European leather as well as the underside of the tonneau cover which is also embossed with the GMC logo. Mercedes tan wool carpets was used in the cab and the inside of the bed. Power back window and front windows as well as power locks were installed. Hand Built upper and lower consoles custom built v butted windshield Pontiac gauges and a Monto Carlo tilt steering column were also used. Drive it or show it it does both well.
