*1966 Ford Mustang Convertible*There are few more iconic cars in the world of cars than a first-generation Mustang Convertible. Introduced in April of 1964 the first generation of Mustang became the fastest-selling car of all time with dealers unable to keep them on the forecourt. Available in coupe fastback and convertible the most commonly sold were coupes with the smaller inline-6 engine but everyone aspired to own a Mustang with a drop-top and a V8. This 1966 example is the perfect embodiment of everything that makes a classic Mustang great-open top V8 and lots of desirable period options in a great color combination and is believed to have just 61 000 miles from new. With single long-term ownership in Phoenix this car has been well preserved and has a suite of documentation to vouch for its originality.Produced in November of 1965 this 1966 Mustang is painted in a fantastic period shade of Springtime Yellow. The bodywork and paint show as though it just rolled off the showroom floor and is set off with a black convertible top and a great-looking set of wire wheel hubcaps riding on white wall tires. On the inside a black luxury Pony interior gives the car a more upscale sporty look and is a very desirable option from the period. The original wood steering wheel is flanked by the optional Rally Pac gauges and features important features like a tachometer and clock. To help cool off that black interior this car retains a power convertible top and all-important air conditioning-both of which still work great. Ford was one of the first companies to offer an 8-Track player as an option in their cars adding it to the options list just two months before this cars production- and this Mustang still holds its original unit paired with an AM radio and speakers in the doors.Under the hood is the coveted C Code 289ci V8- rated at 200 horsepower from the factory this V8 produces plenty of power and low down torque to keep this Mustang happy at the speed of modern-day traffic. The engine was also optioned with the chrome dress-up kit which adds some visual flair to the car under the hood and sets this car apart. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C4 automatic transmission and optional power brakes help slow the car down.
