We at MotoeXotica Classic Cars are fortunate to offer another of Fords luxury rolling clouds, a 1957 Lincoln Mark II, of which only about 3,000 were made, 444 of those for 1957.

This example was made in September of 1956 and is dressed in Starmist White (code 14) with blue/white Bridge of Weir Scottish leather interior (code 1N6B). It is one of 98 that came with factory airconditioning and arrived in a special fleecelined plastic and canvas envelope to protect its finish during transport.

Its Starmist White paint is in very good overall shape with a few minor blemishes on the hood near the windshield. All windows, mirrors and lights are crackfree and clear. All of the body panels are straight and solid, the exterior trim and the bumpers are in fine condition. The car rides on wide whitewall tires, P235/75R15, surrounding the original equipment wheels and wheel covers. The trunk has its spare tire immediately forward of the rear bumper and its airconditioning condensing unit in the forward wall.

This beautifully presented Continental features a 368 CID Yblock V8 with a 408cfm Carter WCFB fourbarrel carburetor, linked to a TurboDrive threespeed automatic transmission and backed by a 3.07:1 rear end. The engine breathes via dual exhausts. Driver assist features include factory airconditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, fourway power seats, power vent windows and power antenna.

Inside, the twotone blue and white Bridge of Weir Scottish leather interior showcases the pinnacle of Continental design in the mid to late 1950s. The fourway power seats, carpet and dashboard are all in overall very good shape, as are the threespoke steering wheel, door skins, rear package shelf and shift lever. The headliner and mirrors are in good condition. Car has full instrumentation. Car still has its original Town and Country AM radio with two speakers and power antenna and there's a Cartier clock.

Over the last three years, more than $21,000 in repairs and restoration have been done to this car. Some highlights include in July 2013, a new brake kit was installed; in August 2013, a new fuel pump, taillight wiring, mufflers and radiator hose were installed; in October 2013, new fuel lines, transmission seal and suspension parts were put in; in May 2014, new radial tires were put on; in August 2014, a rebuilt carb was added, car had a tuneup performed; in November 2014, almost $5,500 worth of body work done; in November 2015, a new voltage regulator and generator were installed, along with new passenger door glass; in December 2015, the TurboDrive transmission was completely rebuilt for $5,100; and in March 2016, a new speedometer was installed and the other gauges that were inoperative were repaired. In addition, the previous owner had almost $20,000 worth of engine work performed in 1991; its documentation is included.

Documentation includes original copies of What every owner should know guide, 1957 Lincoln Service Information manual, authenticity manual for 19561957 Continental Mark IIs and Service Information for 1957 Lincolns. There is also a folder containing more than $21,000 in receipts and paperwork for repairs and restoration work performed since 2013 as well as the aforementioned engine work and other, miscellaneous but related information.

The Continental Mark II was revived in late 1955, produced by the Continental Division of Ford Motor Company and completely separate from LincolnMercury. This version was a unique design with the highest quality control ever seen in the automobile industry. Highclass luxury abounded in the new Continental and with very limited availability, it appeared even more exclusive than the original. This car was so exclusive, selling for $10,000 new, that celebrities like Frank Sinatra and Elvis and even President Dwight D. Eisenhower had to follow protocol from Ford to qualify for ownership.

Proof of the Mark II's desirability is that almost 60 years after they were made, more than 50 percent of these cars survive. However, these Lincolns are becoming increasingly hard to find in such solid, wellkept condition.

Competition to this Lincoln in 1957 included Cadillacs Eldorado Brougham.

This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 64,056 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, actual mileage title. GET OUT AND DRIVE
