Fifty years later, it is rarer and rarer to find any original Chevrolet Camaro, but MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer this 1967 Camaro SS396. This example was built during the second week of April 1967 at General Motors Norwood, Ohio factory. The previous owners bought the car in 2003 and provided this car with more than 13 years of loving care. This Camaro left Norwood with the following options, fourspeed manual transmission (code L); center console (code G); Regular Production Option packages Z21, Style Trim Group, which included body side paint stripes, front and rear wheel opening moldings and bright roof drip gutter moldings;and Z23, Special Interior Group, whichincluded bright trimmed pedal pads, bright windshield pillar moldings and bright roof rail moldings; the 396 V8 (code N); and deluxe seat belts (code Y).

We are selling this Camaro for a local friend who her and her husband purchased this car from us in 2003 and they took great care of the Camaro for well over a decade and they really enjoyed owning this beautiful SS. Unfortunately the husband has passed recently and we are helping her sell the car to the right person.

Dressed in Bolero Red (code RR) with a white Bumblebee accent stripe, this cars paint and trim are in overall very good condition, with some blemishes visible upon close inspection and some orange peel visible on the roof over the drivers door. The windows are all clear and intact, as are the cars head and taillights. This ponycar rolls on Uniroyal Tiger Paw CTS radials at all four corners, 235/60R15 in front and 255/60R15 in back, and these tires surround 1968 or 1969 Chevy factory rally wheels. All of the cars body panels are solid and straight, the car includes a rear spoiler on the trunk and the Camaros bumpers look fantastic.

Under the hood is a 396 L35 big block TurboJet V8 engine with the following aftermarket modifications K&N air cleaner, a Mallory competition 9000 distributor, ignition coil, and Competition fuel filter, Hooker headers and an Edelbrock intake manifold and breathing through dual exhausts. Backing this engine is a factory fourspeed manual transmission with a Hurst shift lever and a 3.07:1 differential. Driver convenience features include power brakes and power steering. The engine bay is tidy and the battery looks new. Out back, the trunk has the proper matting and is in overall good condition. This Camarois a factory 396 car but the current engine is not numbers matching but does have a period correct 325HP 1967 code IV 396 big block.

Inside, the black vinyl front bucket and rear bench seats look excellent. The matching carpet is in good order while the black headliner is in very good shape. The black instrument panel is in one piece and the factory, threespoke steering wheel is present and in good order. An Auto Gage tachometer and Sunpro engine temperature, ammeter and oil pressure gauges are mounted below the instrument panel. The inner door panels echo the rest of the interiors color scheme and are in good condition. The center console is in amazing shape for its age while the mirror glass and Hurst shifter are in good order. While there are 6x9 speakers in the package shelf, there is no radio currently in this car. Once you turn the ignition key, however, you wont miss the music after hearing the songs this engine creates.

The previous owner reportedly repaired or replaced the following items alternator and regulator in October 2013, carburetor and antenna in May 2013, new battery and added dashmounted choke in November 2011, power steering added in June 2007 and replaced engine harness and some wiring in November 2003. Previous owner listed additional repairs horn assembly, brake and reverse lights and hazard flashers.

Competition to this Camaro in 1967 include American Motors Javelin, the Avanti II, Dodges Dart GT, Fords Mustang GT, Mercurys Cougar GT, Plymouths Barracuda, Pontiacs Firebird and Shelbys GT500.
