In 2012, Mercedes-Benz launched one of their most exclusive models yet. Rarer than their V12 sports car and other AMG exclusives, the E63 Wagon set a new standard for performance wagons, maybe even the highest standard to date. Indeed the 2018 version of this car (today at $125,000.00 with basic options) set a wagon track record at Nurburgring last year, putting it further still in the top ranks as one of the fastest four door cars. But it isnt just speed alone that makes these cars so sought after. The handling, braking, and superlative comforts are all grouped into such a useful and efficient package that pre-owned cars today are often swept up faster than these cars can cover the quarter mile.

Under the hood, performance comes from a potent and hand built M157 series 5.5 Liter twin turbo V8. This 577 hp engine proves eminently capable of propelling the wagon to astonishing speeds in a matter of seconds, via a 7-speed automatic transmission. How astonishing? 60mph arrives in 3.4 seconds and the quarter mile in 12.2 seconds. Carpeting is in very nice condition, leather seating surfaces are all in very nice shape, and the console, dashboard, and door panels all support the excellent care given to the car during its 5 year California ownership.

Under the hood the car appears properly cleaned and cared for with no evidence of alterations to the factory equipment. Correct AMG exclusive parts remain in excellent condition both under the hood and throughout the car. The underside of the car is clean and tidy, representing a properly cared-for car, but not fussily detailed.

The car starts easily, running smoothly with a sweet, throaty exhaust note that wakes up perfectly when on the throttle. On the open highway, the E63 distinguishes itself as a storming beast, devouring tarmac by the mile.
