This was the first year for the 544. It is powered by a B16B 4 cylinder coupled to a 4 speed manual transmission. It has been repainted it the original color decades ago, still has some shine, and it is totally rust free and has no evidence of ever having any patches or rust repair. This little coupe has spent the last 18 years in Pennsylvania owned by a Volvo enthuiast and former racer who purchased it from its previous owner in Maryland. The entire brake system, exhaust, shocks, fuel tank and some suspension have been renewed a decade or more ago. It runs and drives as it should but as indicated in the pictures it needs some TLC. The seat covers, various windlacing, weatherstrips and carpeting need replaced which is in boxes and included in the sale. The dash pad has been replaced and the fuel system cleaned, the engine tuned and the brakes have been serviced.
