When the Chevrolet Corvette debuted in 1953, it bore little resemblance to the high-performance American sports car icon it would eventually become. Early Corvettes featured inline-six engines and automatic transmissions, offering style and novelty more than outright performance. That perception changed dramatically in 1955 with the introduction of V8 power, firmly positioning the Corvette as a legitimate performance machine and igniting its reputation as Americas sports car. Throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s, Chevrolet continued to refine the Corvettes performance credentials with desirable upgrades such as four-speed manual transmissions, Positraction rear ends, and competition-inspired options including heavy-duty brakes and larger fuel tanks. While the Corvette maintained its curvaceous, European-influenced design during this era, the model reached a defining moment in 1963 with the arrival of the second-generation C2 Corvette. The all-new C2 design introduced the now-legendary Sting Ray styling, featuring sharper body lines, aggressive proportions, and a more purposeful stance. For the first time, buyers could choose between two body styles: the classic Corvette convertible and the newly offered coupe, famously known for its one-year-only split rear window. By 1964, the Corvette had fully matured into a world-class sports car-making the C2 Corvette convertible an enduring favorite among collectors and enthusiasts. And, due to wide availability of upgrades, conversion kits, and reproduction restoration parts, especially over the past few years, coupled with the iconic C2 Sting Ray look, the 64 Corvette has become a favorite of builders to be adapted into restomods and pro-touring builds. Under the Stinger hood on this 64 Corvette is an upgraded 406 cubic inch Stroker V8 Tri-Star engine fed by a Quick Fuel single 4 barrel carburetor that together are believed to produce over 500 horsepower. The Tri-Star 406 stroker V8 is mated to a 4 speed manual transmission that makes driving this performance-oriented C2 Vette an absolute blast to drive. Power is sent from the 406 stroker through the 4 speed manual to the positraction rear differential that helps ensure that youll be able to keep the rubber to the pavement when driving this beast. The dual exhaust setup produces a terrific throaty sound at idle and while cruising down the road. This 64 Corvette also comes equipped with several fantastic options! With power brakes, bringing this C2 Convertible to a complete stop is much easier, especially with all that extra horsepower under the hood. Power steering is also a welcome addition to this classic Corvette since the overall driving experience is much improved and maneuvering into a tight parking spot at the local car show or drive in is made much easier as well. Riding on a set of brand new Redline Radial tires mounted on a set of chrome American Racing wheels, this 1964 Corvette has a fantastic custom look and a much improved ride. The black vinyl convertible top is in nice condition, and its easy for a single person to raise or lower it should you need it. The fiberglass body of this 1964 Corvette has been refinished in Ermine White paint that is contrasted nicely with the black accents on the upgraded Stinger hood. The interior of this 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible looks great! The black bu
