History of the Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible The genius of GM Chief Designer Harley Earl, the Eldorado Biarritz Convertible was the top of the line model for 1957, with a base price of $7,286 with plenty of room for factory options. From the curved windshield to the softer curved sections of the body all of which were placed on a new X-frame chassis, making the 1957 model an all-new car. Power was derived from the 6.0 liter/365ci V8 fitted with dual-quad carburetors, resulting in a staggering 325hp! Special two-tone leather combinations were offered on the interior while the exterior featured gold Sabre-spoke wheels finished in gold to match the scripts and grille on the car. Such luxury was only available to the extremely affluent and only 1,800 examples were completed for 1957. As such the 1957 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible remains one of the most highly sought after models by collectors today!
