This 1961 Ferrari 250GTE Series I 2+2 is a highly original matching numbers example wearing an older repaint in its original red and retaining its original black leather interior. The 250 GTE 2+2 debuted in the summer of 1960 as Ferraris first four-seater and it was directly descended from the most commercially successful Ferrari of its day, the 250 GT. The new model represented a milestone for Ferrari, representing the companys ever-increasing focus on road cars, with the 250 GTE 2+2 being the marques first true production four-seater. With coachwork by Pininfarina, the 250 GTE 2+2s styling was not only that of stately elegance, but instantly recognisable as a Ferrari.
