It was based on the Ford fullsize car line available in each year. Unlike theCountry Squire, the Country Sedan featured plain body sides. This particular wagon was made in Fords MinneapolisSt. Paul, Minnesota factory on August 27, 1964. It left the factory with the following equipment 390 CID V8 engine, Deluxe Trim Group, chrome luggage rack, Selectaire airconditioning, power steering, power brakes, tinted glass and AM radio. This particular unit was delivered to Turner Ford in Wichita, Kansas and its original owner bought it on October 10, 1964. According to the original invoice, he traded in a 1951 Ford wagon for this wagon. Since then, the car has had two additional owners. Finished in Phoenician Yellow (code 7), the wagons original paint and trim are in great overall condition, complete with Mikes Body Shop livery and custom pinstriping. There are a few minor blemishes on the body, the hood, the right rear door and a chip in the windshield. Otherwise, the wagons windows are in great shape, clear and intact. The stacked headlights and ovoid vertical taillights are in very good order. This haulers bodywork is solid and straight, its engine bay is very tidy and the battery is in great shape. The wagons bumpers are in very good order and the cargo area is in satisfactory condition. This wagon rolls on Nitto radials, size 255/45R18 at all four corners and are in good shape. Each tire surrounds a gray, fivespoke aluminum wheel and those wheels look great and offer good contrast to the body color. Under the hood is Fords Zcode 390 CID V8 engine with a fourbarrel carburetor breathing through dual exhausts and buttoned to a CruiseOMatic threespeed automatic transmission with a 3.00:1 rear end. Driver convenience features include Selectaire airconditioning, power steering, power brakes and a chrome luggage rack complete with surfboard. Inside, the wagon has a Palomino (code 69) vinyl interior thats in overall very good overall order. There are blemishes on the front seats observable under close inspection. The front and rear bench seats are in great shape, along with the matching carpet and headliner. The twospoke steering wheel, instrument panel and inner door panels all look great. The cargo area does not simply have a rearfacing third seat but a rearfacing bench plus two folddown jumpseats that face each other, providing multiple seating options. The shift lever looks good and completing the interior is an AM radio. The Country Sedan was based on theCustomlinefrom 1952 to 1954. Beginning in 1955, Ford spun their station wagons into their own series and the Country Sedan continued to represent the midtrim level station wagon. During the 1960s and 1970s, the Country Sedan was approximate to theGalaxieandGalaxie 500in trim elements. For 1972, 1973 and 1974 the model was marketed as the Galaxie 500 Country Sedan and from 1975 it was rebranded LTD wagon. Documentation includes original owners manual, original conditional sales contract, original invoice, a copy of the 1965 Ford Factory Shop Manual on CDROM, another Ford Galaxie CDROM and miscellaneous service and maintenance receipts. Vehicle also comes with original tires and wheels, a trouble light, tool kit, original carburetor and miscellaneous parts. Competition to this Ford in 1965 included Chevrolets BelAir wagon, Dodges Polara wagon, Oldsmobiles Custom Vista Cruiser wagon and Pontiacs Catalina wagon.
