*1966 Sunbeam Tiger*One of the things that sets particular classic cars apart is the story behind them- this Sunbeam Tiger has a unique story and lots of Pacific Northwest history! Originally assembled 10/22/1964 this Tiger was delivered new to a Ford dealer in Washington state where it was purchased by the dealership owner. Upon taking possession of the car a number of popular dealer installed Tiger options were added which included headers traction bars and Tiger-Powered by Ford valve covers. When it was new the car was red and it remained in Washington moving between owners for nearly a decade. This car has been extensively documented by Tiger expert Norman Miller who has traced the cars ownership back to when it was new.In 2004 this Tiger was the recipient of an exceptionally thorough restoration where no stone was left unturned turning it from a nice car into a truly beautiful example. During the restoration the engine and transmission were both removed and completely rebuilt. Additionally the engine received a Griffin aluminum radiator remote oil filter 4-bbl carburetor and an updated alternator. All of these modifications help to keep the car reliable and mean that even on the hottest days it will stay reliable. The interior was completely retrimmed with high end dark blue carpets and rich tan calfskin leather seats door cards parcel shelf surround and under-dash trim. A stunning set of Jaeger gauges sits in front of the driver placed inside a burled wood dashboard. The steering wheel and sun visors are both original but they have been refurbished and the interior as a whole presents exceptionally. The exterior has been thoroughly sorted as well and looks fantastic. When the car was purchased prior to the restoration it had been painted black over the original red color. Given that the original paint was no longer present the owner at the time elected to change the color to the stunning dark blue it wears today. Based on a color from the 1966 Pontiac GTO pallet it looks absolutely stunning against the tan leather interior and compliments the shape of the car very nicely. A brown convertible top has been installed along with a nice set of Panasport alloy wheels to complete the overall look. In 2017 this car was purchased by the Thunder Dome Car Museum in Enumclaw WA where it resided for 3 years. During that time the car was treated to a carb tuning and new brake master cylinder and the car was ready to be driven. In 2020 the car was sold through Barrett Jackson where it was purchased again by someone in the local area. Upon their purchase this Tiger was thoroughly vetted by local marque expert Larry Atkisson and has been certified by the Tiger Authentication Committee. Included with the sale are photos of the restoration 2 binders of receipts a shop manual the removable hard top and corresponding stand.*Additional Information* * Factory Hard Top * Folder of Restoration Receipts*Standard Features* * 260ci Ford V8 * 4-Speed Manual Gearbox * Live Rear Axle * Canvas Convertible Top * Front Bucket Seats * Wood Veneer Dashboard * Full InstrumentationFor more information on this 1966 Sunbeam Tiger or any of our 100+ high-performance sports cars always in stock contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or always feel free to stop by our Bellevue WA Park Place Ltd campus - where we have over 40 000 sq ft of indoor showrooms filled with the finest cars.
