Check out this local, totally rust free V4 Monte Carlo that has had a complete disassembly and restoration about a decade ago. The attention to detail that went into this restoration is evident when looking at the workmanship. The exterior shows a well presented body that has a glossy red finish with a minimal hint of what lies beneath surface. The engine compartment has been well sorted with the 1500c.c V4. The chassis is well sorted and the underside reveal a solid chassis as well. This example was finished in Toreador Red, and the body was disassembled then stripped to bare metal before bodywork was performed and both the interior and exterior surfaces were refinished. No corrosion was found and the car wears all original panels. The Monte Carlo came equipped with a tachometer and a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a upgraded interior and Cromodora Alloy wheels. The Saab 96 model was driven most famously by Erik Carlsson, in many international rallies. His most famous successes were first in the 1960, 1961 and 1962 RAC Rallies and first in the 1962 and 1963 Monte Carlo Rallies. It was these successive, top-level victories that put the Saab 96 on the map and established its reputation for reliability and toughness. Carlsson also competed in the East African Safari Rally. Famous rallying names such as Simo Lampinen, Per Eklund, Pat Moss-Carlsson, Tom Trana, Stig Blomqvist and Carl Orrenius have also been connected with the Saab 96. - AM/FM, Vinyl Interior Surface - Contact Rich Kushner at 717-426-2202 x101 or Rich@Swedishmotors.com for more information. -
