(The FIA required a steel roll cage to be added to the car in place of its original aluminum structure.) In 2014, the Porsche traveled back from Europe to California to its most recent owner. During his ownership, the car would undergo an exterior restoration. The owner would race the car in the 2014 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion and the 2015 Rennsport 5 events and numerous other vintage racing events.
