This extremely handsome 1956 Bentley S1 Continental Right-Hand Drive with Coupe Coachwork by Park Ward was purchased by the previous owner in 1998 out of England and was imported to the US later that year. It was subsequently refurbished to the approximate sum of $250,000 which involved overhauls of the 4.9-liter inline-six, along with the brake, suspension, and electrical systems. The alloy coupe bodywork on this example is noted to have left the factory in Velvet Green with a red pinstripe. Bubbling in the paint along the bottom of the right door is noted as well as other flaws in the finish. The front seats were retrimmed in red leather with black piping that extends to the door panels and rear bench. Refinished wood trim covers the dash, door caps, and windshield surround, while replacement black carpets with red trim line the floors and trunk area. The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation that was overhauled as part of the refurbishment. Equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission, twin SU carburetors, electrically adjustable rear lever-arm shock absorbers, and servo-assisted drum brakes. Offered with manufacturer?s literature, refurbishment photos, as well as service records.
