This 1971 280SL is a desirable automatic, final year of production example. The car has had extensive servicing, and is in excellent condition inside and out. The car was repainted most recently in the late 80s by a Mercedes Dealership. At that time, the car was reupholstered, so the interior is in excellent condition. The soft top was replaced in 2016, along with a new Mercedes windshield. The car comes with its data card, which confirms its original color combination of Signal Red over Black, and its matching numbers engine. The car was exclusively serviced by either a Mercedes Dealership, or a Marque Specialist and was previously owned by a dedicated Collector in Iowa who only took the car out on weekends. The odometer reads 44,000, and the last recorded odometer reading was 43710 in 2016. The previous owner purchased the car in 1987 with 35,000 displayed miles. We cannot guarantee this to be actual mileage since he was told that the odometer was repaired. The car comes with its original radio, but currently has a more modern Alpine unit installed. The car has had new tires installed and comes with records for recent servicing, and is ready to be used and enjoyed. It is up to date on all maintenance. The car comes with: books, tools, spare wheel, spare key, original radio, records, and a data card.
