The Supermono was one of the most innovative racing motorcycles ever produced when it was built in the early 1990s for the well-known Sound of Singles racing series. They have grown to be some of the most sought-after Ducatis with only 67 ever being built. The Supermono, with the single-cylinder engine, acquired the balance of a V-Twin by combining the horizontal front cylinder from the 888 Corsa with a counterbalancing second connecting rod. Large inlet and exhaust valves, 50mm throttle bodies, and twin fuel injectors were some of the additional characteristics carried over from the racing V-Twin. The bikes aluminum swingarm was directly attached to the crankcase and gearbox casting, and the steel-tube frame was constructed in accordance with Ducatis well-known trellis pattern. With the exception of the engine side covers, top yoke, and wheels, which were made of magnesium, carbon fiber was used extensively, resulting in a dry weight under 267 pounds. This outstanding example was purchased by its first owner when it was brand new in Germany and was afterward traded to an enthusiast in Denmark. After that, the Ducati spent time in Denvers Vintage Motos Museum. It reportedly hasnt been raced, but simply taken part in track days.
