The incredible 1963 Bentley S3 Continental Saloon by James Young Sedan featured here is finished in stunning Old English White over a grey Connolly leather interior and magnificent burled walnut throughout. In the 1970s the S3 was purchased by noted actor and comedian Dudley Moore who was frequently seen driving the car in the Los Angeles area during the 1980s. Photographs of Mr. Moore with the Bentley accompany the car today along with an incredible assortment of documentation including the original build document copies and construction records from the R.R.E.C. After Dudley Moores passing the Bentley was offered as part of his estate auction held by Christies in 2002 where this incredibly significant Bentley realized a selling bid of $145,000! Since that time, the S3 Continental has been exclusively in collector level ownership. Today the car remains virtually untouched since leaving Mr. Moores estate. As such the Bentley presents today with a level of patina that one would expect from a nearly 60-year-old motorcar with some wear evident on the paint and interior. However, this example could be driven and enjoyed as is and would be an ideal candidate for a vintage rally or tour! We are especially proud to offer this exceedingly rare 1963 Bentley S3 Continental Saloon by James Young to the most astute collector, investor or enthusiast who appreciates the level of rarity and incredible ownership provenance found in this stunning motorcar. Classic cars have proven to be among the most resilient and rewarding investments in recent years with the Historic Automobile Group Index (HAGI) jumping 39% in 2013, 16% in 2014 and 17% in 2015 while posting gains of 467% over the last 10 years.
