*1993 Land Rover Defender 110*When the Land Rover Defender debuted in 1983 it was designed as the successor to the Willys Jeep based Series Land Rovers. The new Defender had big shoes to fill as the new design needed to be just as capable off-road as the old model while improving both comfort and usability on the road. With the introduction of items such as coil springs an updated interior progressively more powerful engines and in 1984 roll up windows the Defender became the automatic choice for outdoor adventurers and English farmers alike. As time progressed Land Rover continued to update the Defender with more modern interior features and new engines- the most popular being the 200TDi introduced in 1989.This Alpine White Defender 110 NAS is a prime example of this capable off-roader that has lived on the west coast since 1992. The Defender 110 was brought to the United States for just one year between 1992 and 1993 and each example was hand built by Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations. Because of this only 534 110s were produced for US import and this example has been exceptionally well kept from new. Although the majority of Defenders were outfitted with smaller 4-cylinder diesel engines this one was optioned with the desirable Rover 3.9L V8 and a 5-Speed manual gearbox. Producing nearly 100 horsepower more than the 200TDi the truck can easily keep up with modern traffic all while hauling 9 people.The exterior of the truck is nearly flawless and looks both handsome and purposeful on its white steel wheels- a black set is also included with the vehicle. The exterior also has a number of great extras for use off road such as a front brush bar safari cage side steps and a removable roof rack. On the inside the Defender is in fantastic original condition- the seats are outfitted in gray houndstooth Moorland cloth which presents like new. This 110 has a unique seating arrangement with room for 9- a normal 5 seat arrangement in the front with dual rear jump seats to fit 4 more occupants. The Defender also features some very welcome concessions to comfort such as Air Conditioning and power steering.
